Moment toddler drops from burning building into arms of first responders as blaze rages in New Jersey

The dad went out the window head first, crashing down rescuers and the bushes below The dramatic life or death moment showing a two-year-old dangling from second-story window as an inferno rages around him was caught on cellphone video, just before the boy's father dropped him safely into the waiting arms of New Jersey first responders.
The Monmouth Junction Fire Department thought that they had cleared everyone from Building 1 of the South Ridge Woods apartment complex after a fire ripped through the structure and incinerated the roof just after 8 a.m. in South Brunswick on Monday morning.
Just then, a father appeared at the window, trapped by the heavy smoke and unable to get out through the stairwell.
He broke the glass in the window as South Brunswick police and firemen held their arms high above their head and beckoned the man to release the toddler.
It seemed an impossible choice for the imperiled dad - death by fire or dropping his son into the arms of strangers far below.
