$38 million for new health innovation centre at UNB Saint John Goal is to open the building in the fall of 2024 Funding for construction of the new Health and Social Innovation Centre at the University of New Brunswick Saint John was announced Monday at $38 million.

The 3½-storey building will be constructed with $15.2 million from the federal government, $12 million from the provincial government and $10.8 million from the university, which is still to be raised, said Petra Hauf, UNB vice president, Saint John.

Hauf said a donor campaign has already begun and will ramp up early in the new year.

The project will include the demolition of the vacant Ward Chipman Library, which is where the new building will be located.
