FOG BLOG RIVERWATCH LOG: TOO EARLY TO TELL THE EXTENT OF FLOODING RISK WITH LOTS OF ICE ON RIVER!

THE PICTURE INDICATES THAT THERE IS STILL LOTS OF ICE IN THE SAINT JOHN RIVER. THE SCENE AT CARAQUET SHOWS A SNOW PACK AND ICE THAT HAS NOT BROKEN UP ON THE RIVER. THIS SPRING THERE HAVE NOT BEEN BIG SPIKES IN TEMPERATURES LIKE IN PREVIOUS YEARS AND THAT BODES WELL FOR KEEPING FLOOD LEVELS DOWN. RIGHT NOW THERE IS STILL A BIG SNOW PACK UP NORTH OF THE PROVINCE AND AS IT MELTS AND THE ICE BREAKS UP, IT WILL BE WHETHER OR NOT THERE WILL BE A SLOW MELT TO HELP OUT THE SITUATION OR NOT. AS OF RIGHT NOW THINGS ARE FAVOURABLE BUT COULD CHANGE, WE ALL HAVE TO STAY TUNED!
