FOG BLOG RIDICULOG: THE LAST STRAW- BYE BYE BARBOUR'S GENERAL STORE!

Well Saint John , do you know?? The city is going to tear down the most iconic place here!!! Barbour's General Store is going under the wrecking ball in favour of probably a non descript box called a Welcome Centre that will probably have no character and not fit in with the heritage uptown architecture! Then in a more recent article on Global News it might become a green space with more benches for tourists to sit on. This is the last straw for me with these tear downs that go on all the time. Up top of King there is still a big hole. This is what visitors come to see!! I'm fuming! GE Barbour still owns the building and the city owns the property, they both agreed , too much to fix after last year's fire! I would like to light a fire under them. I'm sure the building could be moved, maybe to the West Side and fixed up to its former glory. C'mon Saint John! THE LAST STRAW....LET'S COME UP WITH A LAST DITCH EFFORT TO SAVE THE SAINT JOHN NB UNIQUE ICON, EVEN THE CITY MULLED OVER FIXING IT UP!
