FOG BLOG RIDICULOG: 11TH HOUR SAVIOURS FOR HERITAGE SITES DENIED, DESPITE SAVING THE PROVINCE MONEY!

RIDICULOG THIS FRIDAY, HERE WE GO AGAIN! WHY DOES THIS PROVINCE AND IN THIS CASE SAINT JOHH TURN A BLIND EYE TO 11TH HOUR SAVIOURS. FIRST CLOSE TO 10 YEARS AGO THE PROVINCE DENIED A MAN FROM DOING AN INEXPENSIVE BUT EFFECTIVE REPAIR TO THE HAMMOND RIVER HERITAGE COVERED BRIDGE , THAT WAS DENIED, BRIDGE WAS DEMOLISHED AND A NON DESCRIPT BAILEY BRIDGE PUT IN ITS PLACE! NOW ITS THE BARBOUR'S GENERAL STORE. ALBEIT THE STORE WAS SET ON FIRE LATE LAST YEAR AND DAMAGED , A SAINT JOHN MAN HAS AN IDEA OF PURCHASING THE BUILDING AND FIXING IT UP, HOPEFULLY TO DISPLAY THIS 1800S HERITAGE BUILDING SOMEWHERE PROUD IN THE CITY! AGAIN , THE CITY SAYS NO!! BARBOUR'S OWN THE BUILDING ON CITY LAND BUT BOTH WON'T BUDGE ON THE DECISION TO TEAR IT DOWN! 11TH HOUR SAVIOURS DENIED . WHAT DOES THE PROVINCE THINK WHY PEOPLE VISIT, YES THE SCENERY AND BEACHES ETC. THE SCENERY INCLUDES HERITAGE AND A LOT OF PEOPLE COME FOR THE COVERED BRIDGES, THE MAN MENTIONED ABOVE COULD'VE SAVED THE HAMMOND BRIDGE FOR A FRACTION OF WHAT THE PROVINCE WOULD HAVE PAID. THAT IS HOW THE OLD PROVINCIAL BALL BOUNCES. HAMMOND RIVER BRIDGE IS PICTURED WITH THIS STORY!
