Robby Polchies found guilty of first-degree murder.....Jurors deliberated over 3 days before reaching a decision Sunday.......A Kingsclear First Nation man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2019 death of Corey Sisson.

Robby Polchies, 34, was accused of fatally shooting 19-year-old Sisson on a wooded trail in Noonan, close to Fredericton, on July 29, 2019.

Polchies was calm when the jury re-entered the makeshift courtroom at the Fredericton Convention Centre Sunday morning and was stoic when the verdict was read.

It took jurors more than 18 hours over three days to deliberate. They delivered their decision shortly after 11 a.m.

Jurors gave their decision one by one. Each found Polchies guilty of first-degree murder, which carries a sentence of life imprisonment with eligibility for parole after 25 years.

Under first-degree murder, the jury must be satisfied that the act is planned and deliberate.

The Crown argued that Polchies wanted Sisson's share of a stolen truck they planned to sell, and the drugs he had with him.
