FOG BLOG NB COVID 19 UPDATE LOG: TODAY IS NATIONAL DAY OF OBSERVANCE , 2 NEW CASES:

JUSTIN TRUDEAU A FEW DAYS AGO ANNOUNCED THAT TODAY IS DESIGNATED AS NATIONAL DAY OF OBSERVANCE OF THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES DUE TO COVID 19......Canada is designating March 11, 2021, as a National Day of Observance to commemorate the people who lost their lives and the significant impacts we have all felt because of COVID-19:

“Early last year, our lives, and the lives of everyone around the world, were forever changed by the emergence of COVID-19. Today – one year after the first known death of a Canadian to the disease – we now mourn the tragic loss of more than 22,000 parents, siblings, friends, and loved ones.

“COVID-19 has infected over 864,000 other Canadians, and has had an immeasurable impact on how we all work and learn, connect with friends and family, and live our daily lives. All Canadians have experienced sacrifice and loss over the past year. Our kids have missed birthday parties, seniors have felt isolated from the ones they love, and for far too many, this virus has meant the loss of their job or the closure of their business.......New Brunswick Public Health is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

Two previously reported cases are now considered recovered, as 34 active cases remain in the province.

Both of Thursday's new cases were identified in the Moncton region (Zone 1), involving one person in their 30s and one person in their 40s. Both cases are under investigation and are self-isolating.......New Brunswick has had 1,462 cumulative confirmed cases since the pandemic began. In total, 1,398 people have recovered, and 29 people have died in the province from COVID-19.

Three people are in hospital, two in the intensive care unit, with COVID-19.

Public health says 782 tests were completed on Wednesday in New Brunswick, and 238,409 total since the start of the pandemic.

The number of cases are broken down by New Brunswick’s seven health zones:

  • Zone 1 – Moncton region: 340 confirmed cases (6 active cases)

  • Zone 2 – Saint John region: 224 confirmed cases (2 active cases)

  • Zone 3 – Fredericton region: 241 confirmed cases (4 active cases)

  • Zone 4 – Edmundston region: 422 confirmed cases (5 active cases)

  • Zone 5 – Campbellton region: 182 confirmed cases (no active cases)

  • Zone 6 – Bathurst region: 28 confirmed cases (1 active case)

  • Zone 7 – Miramichi region: 25 confirmed cases (16 active cases)
