New Brunswick recorded two more COVID-related deaths and 130 new cases Friday, and the Horizon Health Network announced it will move all of its hospitals and health-care centres to the "red alert" COVID-19 level next Wednesday. A person in their 80s in the Moncton region, Zone 1, and a person 90 or older in the Campbellton region, Zone 5, have died, putting the province's death toll at 72. Fifty-eight people hospitalized because of the virus, up from 55 on Thursday, with 30 of them in intensive care, a decrease of one. There are now 881 active cases of COVID across the province. "While we are prepared to deal with surges and outbreaks, the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has proved to have a major effect on our already-stressed health care system," Horizon's interim president and CEO Dr. John Dornan said in a statement.
