Fencer Claire Han earns bronze at Canada Games

CHARLOTTETOWN (GNB) – Team New Brunswick’s Claire Han won a bronze medal in fencing Tuesday at the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Charlottetown. Han, of Fredericton, earned the medal in the women’s épée individual event during the second week of competition. It was Team New Brunswick’s fifth medal of the Games. During the first week of competition, Team New Brunswick earned a gold in the men’s synchro trampoline, and bronze medals in men’s individual trampoline, women’s 500-metre short track speed skating and women’s short track relay. Competition began Tuesday for male curling, doubles mixed curling, badminton, boxing, cross-country skiing, fencing, figure skating and alpine skiing. Judo and archery competitions start Wednesday. NEW BRUNSWICK HAS 6 MEDALS SO FAR WITH 2 GOLD O SILVER AND 4 BRONZE.
