Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Tuesday that new rules on gun control measures would be announced later in the day, including that as of July 7, those seeking a firearms licence would see a background check look at the person's entire life and not a shortened period of five years. He also spoke briefly about other rules tabled in Parliament Monday that include retailers selling firearms having to verify a buyer's licence before making a sale.
