FOG BLOG CANADA LOG: 61 YR OLD MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER INVOLVING A BABY IN MARKHAM ON!

Man, 61, faces attempted murder charges involving baby in Markham A 61-year-old man from China has been charged with attempted murder after a two-month-old boy was critically injured at a Markham hotel on Tuesday afternoon. The accused man, who is related to the baby, was arrested at the scene of The Monte Carlo Inn on Woodbine Ave., north of Hwy. 7. York Regional Police are withholding his name, saying they do not want to identify the infant by releasing the name of the boy’s family member. Const. Laura Nicolle confirmed Wednesday to The Toronto Sun that “there was at least one other person (in the room). It wasn’t just the two of them.”

Police have said that someone in the room called 911.

“An intentional situation against an infant — it’s very rare, and I can remember a handful of them in the last 10 years that I’ve been in this office,” Nicolle said. “They obviously are shocking and hard to wrap your mind around how something like this could happen.”

None of the allegations against the man have been tested in court.
