NEW BRUNSWICK HAS..... 2 GOLD 4 SILVER 10 BRONZE FOR A TOTAL OF 16 MEDALS AT THE GAMES.........Team New Brunswick wins first-ever Canada Games medal in trampoline Team New Brunswick gained its first-ever Canada Games medal in trampoline during the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Charlottetown.
Fredericton's Dexter Richard and Eric Davis struck gold in the men's synchro trampoline on Monday – claiming the first medal of the games for Team New Brunswick.
“I am so happy to be receiving this medal, we worked hard for it,” said Davis.
The pair finished in first place ahead of Saskatchewan and Alberta respectively to claim the gold medal. The Canada Winter Games will wrap up Sunday after two weeks of competition across PEI.
The closing ceremonies are set for 7.30 at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown where they began.
Quebec leads with 148 medals including 56 gold over the past two weeks. Ontario is second with 105 including 31 gold. BC is third with 98 medals. Nova Scotia has 22 to lead Atlantic teams and PEI has two.
The flag bearers for PEI for the closing were announced Sunday morning. They are the province’s two medalists, Lucas MacDonald who won silver in judo and Arden Hopkin who won a bronze in archery.
