EVEN THOUGH NEW BRUNSWICK CURLING IS UNABLE TO ADVANCE .......THEY HAD A STRONG SHOWING AND PROUD TO HAVE BROKEN A RECORD AT THE SCOTTIES TOURNAMENT OF HEARTS IN SASKATCHEWAN!............MOOSE JAW. Sask. — In a Scotties Tournament of Hearts where some unexpected things have happened, the craziest came Tuesday afternoon when top-seeded Manitoba gave up a seven-ender against New Brunswick.Count ’em: Seven. It’s a record for the largest single-end score in Scotties history.“Missed shots,” Manitoba’s Kerri Einarson said, when asked to explain how something like that could happen.“We missed quite a few in that end and we just weren’t sharp today. We were a little heavy on a few draws and I had really close weight on my last one but it just caught the curl. We hadn’t really seen anything lighter there but we just needed a touch more ice. I was thinking if I made one really good draw we could bail out of it but sometimes it happens that way.”Manitoba was a perfect 4-0 heading into the game and New Brunswick was 1-3, but Andrea Crawford’s team played a great game, and a particularly great seventh end.“It was kind of one of those ends that just kind of crept up,” said Crawford, who won 13-7 to hand Manitoba its first loss. “Definitely didn’t see it coming until the end. Just a couple of little misses on their part that allowed us the open shots.
