Fog Blog Ridiculog: One Universal Time Zone:

2 PROFESSORS RECENTLY WERE ON CNN PROPOSING THE WORLD ADOPT A UNIVERSAL TIME ZONE FOR THE WHOLE WORLD!.......IT WOULD BE THE SAME TIME EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD! I'M USING THE EXAMPLE OF THE ATLANTIC TIME ZONE FOR THIS. THE TIME ADOPTED FOR THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD BE GREENWICH MEAN TIME OUT OF THE U.K..........Saint John NB being in the Atlantic time zone would be 4 hours behind that .....so if this went through in the summer when the sun sets at 9 pm and rises at 5 am......the times now would be sunset at 5 pm and rises at 1 am.....how would we get used to that? Now lets check out the winter solstice! The sunset would be 4:30 pm and 8 am roughly for sunrise now......with the new time proposed....sunset in the winter would be 12:30 noon and sunrise would be 4 am....wow.....mind boggling. They said it would take a few months to get used to the new time. What about the Pacific time zone.....oh boy! They said it would be like getting used to Celcius from Fahrenheit and to the metric system. I think the current system works for everyone! There were too many time zones in the 1800s and would be again with this proposal and throw this story back into the Ridiculog zone!
