WE WERE TOLD THAT THE FLOODING THAT COST NEW BRUNSWICKERS MILLIONS IN DAMAGE IN 2018 AND TOOK ALL SUMMER AND FALL TO REPAIR AND SOME AREAS AND RESIDENCES HAVE STILL NOT RETURNED TO BEFORE FLOOD CONDITION.....IT WAS KNOWN AS A ONE IN 100 YEAR FLOOD , NOW HERE WE GO AGAIN!!.......THERE HAS BEN TALK OF BUILDING A SPILLWAY HERE AT THE MOUTH OF THE SAINT JOHN RIVER TO DIVERT MORE WATER AWAY FROM VULNERABLE AREAS AROUND THE CITY. I think they should start thinking of making a floodway or spillway around the Mactaquac Dam up river in order to adjust the flow going down river or maybe adjusting the flow right from the dam. Whatever the case is....this is becoming the new norm and things have to be passed and put in place this year in order to enact change and maybe stem the flooding problems in the future!!
