The book offers readers stories from dozens of writers ranging from Silver Donald Cameron and Phonse Jessome to Eleanor Wilson and Marjorie Simmins. From the beginning of Silver Donald Cameron’s story First Days of Christmas:......’Naturally I’m depressed,’ said Pickle Oickle. ‘It’s Christmas time.’‘Pickle,’ I said, ‘Christmas is the most joyous time of the year. And besides, this is only the end of September.’”The new treasury includes funny tales, pranks and more tender-hearted Christmas stories focusing on kindness and love. A portion of the sales from the book will be donated to Feed Nova Scotia though CBC Cape Breton’s annual Light Up A Life campaign.“The wind from the North had the Bras d’Or Lakes whipped into heavy swells that rocked me back and forth as I fished along the shore,” begins Don MacLean’s story To Cape Breton for Christmas.“It was a nasty day in late November where the cold wind combined with driving rain to make for a miserable day, but I was having a ball.”
