SPRING IS HERE AND TIME FOR POTHOLES AND DIGGING! I SEE BIG HOLES BEING DUG BECAUSE OF THE RAVAGES OF THE FREEZE - THAW CYCLE! SOME OF THE JOBS FIXING PIPES HAD TO BE PUT OFF UNTIL NOW. ONE BIG BEEF I HAVE WITH THE DIGGING IS THAT WHEN THEY FILL IN, THE GRAVEL GETS MESSED UP WITH DRIVERS CONSTANTLY DRIVING OVER IT AND RAIN MAKES IT LIKE A WASH BOARD! When it gets really bad , it can wreck a person's car. The problem comes in when its left for weeks , sometimes 2 months! One example is on Churchill Ave. in Saint John NB's North End, they had to do a dig , possibly for a break in a pipe. They filled it with gravel and it stayed that way for almost 3 weeks, it got really bumpy. Now going by today they have this seal that doesn't last long, better than nothing. I know that there is a system and the city is busy but it gets really tough when the gravel gets moved out and the hole gets bumpy! Maybe in the future we can get the wait times down when it comes to filling the holes with pave from when they create the holes in the first place. In the mean time......bumpy ride all the way to the Ridiculog!
