THE NUMBERS ARE CRUNCHED AND THE DECISION MADE!! AS OF LATE JUNE....THE MAIN WEST BRANCH OF TD BANK IN SAINT JOHN WILL CLOSE LEAVING WEST SIDERS SCRAMBLING TO DO THEIR BANKING AT THE CHIPMAN HILL LOCALE! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY BUSY AREA . IT IS LOCATED ACROSS FROM THE SAINT JOHN CITY HALL! THERE IS EVEN LESS ON STREET PARKING BECAUSE OF THE NEW LAW COURTS AND POLICE STATION. WHEN THESE WERE BUILT , IT CANNIBALIZED A FEW STREETS AND PARKING SPOTS|!!.....Now there is a parking garage that can provide parking......it serves Brunswick Square, Bell Aliant and City Hall etc. This is great and all now lets look at the down side! For people who walk and don't drive and can't afford bus fare, this is a big blow to them . My Mom for instance has no cell phone so all business is done in the brick and mortar building. As for the parking garage.....for a transaction that takes a couple of important steps to do 2 times a month.....it doesn't take long if its not busy! Paying for an hour trying to find a spot in a busy parking garage is not practical! The gas too having to go uptown will be more! You would have to pay for an hour's parking for even a 10 minute transaction! Way to go Toronto!! You did not make the decision based on your customers needs , as usual it is based on your bottom line! Get a grip TD ....time to think about your customers too!! Time will run out and the nightmare for this Ridiculog will then begin!!
