A HUGE GROWING PROBLEM WITH REGARDS TO DISTRACTED DRIVERS AND KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE WHEN THEY DISEMBARK A SCHOOL BUS WITH LIGHTS FLASHING! NOT TO MENTION BREAKING THE HIGHWAY TRAFFIC ACT BY NOT STOPPING. I DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE....IF YOU HAVE A LICENSE TO DRIVE ....THEN YOU KNOW YOU HAVE TO STOP FOR A SCHOOL BUS WITH LIGHTS FLASHING REGARDLESS WHETHER YOU ARE FACING IT OR BEHIND IT! Video shows Ontario girl nearly struck by car getting off school bus A surveillance camera video captured the moment a 10-year-old Pickering, Ont. girl was almost struck by a speeding car after getting off a school bus near her home. Below is a still shot of the incident that took place a year ago in October. I know that more and more people are becoming complacent and paying attention to their devices. You have to pay attention to your driving at all times. Recently I was on a trip to Northern On and through the States saw a few incidences of this. I was facing the school bus when the guy behind it passed by it and us! The driver motioned to us about it and smiled at us , inferring that we obeyed and he hadn't . While in Sault On. I saw one time , this happened! I've seen it many times here in Saint John. Luckily no one was hurt with all the times I've seen this happen. I think the various governments in the US and Canada should be thinking of an effective way of getting through to these people not obeying the flashing school bus lights , maybe hefty fines and or jail time, might get through!! This problem doesn't belong on the Ridiculog because if it comes up again.......children are going to be injured or worse....simply obey the flashing lights!!
