LAST WEEK , MY GIRLFRIEND AND I WALKED INTO A LOCAL RESTAURANT IN THE NORTH END AND FOUND AGAIN....THERE IS A BOIL ORDER ISSUED FOR MANY AREAS EAST OF THE REVERSING FALLS BRIDGE INCLUDING THE NORTH END! MY GIRLFRIEND LIVES IN THE NORTH END AND I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE LACK OF WARNING! I APPLAUD SAINT JOHN FOR FIXING THE WATER INFRASTRUCTURE WHICH INCLUDES THE NEW FACILITY OUT EAST THAT SHOULD END ALMOST ALL NEED FOR BOIL ORDERS! IN THE WEST MOST RESIDENTS WILL GET THEIR DRINKING WATER FROM A GROUND WATER SOURCE AROUND SOUTH BAY. This will be happening soon but in the mean time, you never know East or West if there will be boil order issued ! With that said, this reporter has a beef with the media, usually the local radio will announce the boil orders on the news, but will you be listening at the right time? I rely on the only newscast that broadcasts from New Brunswick on TV....that is the CBC News at 6. I watch it ritually every week day evening! They are a public broadcaster and should be alerting the public in NB about all issues that can affect health, like boil orders. I know, they say that if its not on the cast then its online on the CBC news website! Recently, Hillary Clinton was addressing a crowd and talked about only 40 per cent world wide have the internet even though we're in 2017! Its been on the news here that there are plenty without the net right here in NB. I think all should know if there is a boil order, so Harry next time have that important news on the air for all to see! Most have a TV but not all have the internet, its expensive! Next time .....boil order alert goes on TV or this issue revisits the Ridiculog!
