Fog Blog Ridiculog:

THIS WEEK'S RIDICULOG IS ALL ABOUT JUSTICE THAT FALLS FLAT DUE TO LOOPHOLES AND TECHNICALITIES ! New Brunswick RCMP have laid charges in one of the oldest active murder investigations in the province. Brenda Cosgrove from the Saint John area was killed more than 10 years ago. On Tuesday, her former boyfriend Carmen Tessier was formally charged with second degree murder. The Mounties will say only that they uncovered a new piece of evidence in the 10-year-old case on July 6 and lab results on that evidence came in this week.Tessier was picked up for questioning on Tuesday and a decision was made to arrest and charge him with murder.Brenda Cosgrove disappeared in July of 1989 and wasn't seen for eight months until her remains were discovered near Musquash. This report from CBC is from 2000, now let's see, Carmen Tessier was found guilty to arson and spent minimal time in jail, he has been free for years, what happened here?? Loopholes and technicalities kept him from going to jail for murder with evidence apparently tied up in a bow! For heinous acts like this , there should be only so much leverage with these technicalities, considering the proof gathered . What about the poor family of Brenda Cosgrove, etc.?? Mr. Tessier is up on arson charges again, maybe this time he can cool his heels for a while in the clink!! In the future there needs to be amendments to the law to prevent iron clad evidence in a big murder case from falling through the cracks or falling onto the Ridiculog!
