Fog Blog Ridiculog!:

ANOTHER FIRE GUTS A HERITAGE BUILDING IN THE HERITAGE DISTRICT OF SAINT JOHN! A heritage building pictured below built in the 1800's, with the fire trucks out front on Duke street was engulfed in flames overnight Monday and because of how the shell of it still standing is unstable the city issued an order for demolition on Tuesday, the deed is now done! I've gone over this issue before about our old iconic buildings either are being torn down or burned down. I don't know the reason for the fire here but what has been common is people are in a hurry and don't take care, common cause is grease fires. This has been on the news about warning people of the dangers of unattended hot grease on the stove or smoking in bed, etc. Other reasons are , neglect, out of town owners let their once nice structures go to rack and ruin! There are plenty of new construction to satisfy the people who want to modernize the city but we need to protect our heritage, square boxes with no personality in my estimation is no replacement for our beautiful ornate heritage buildings. Visitors to this city expecting to see our history and beauty will soon be seeing empty holes where our beauty once stood and that will earn a spot on a future Ridiculog!
