JOSEPH MASCOLO, WHO PLAYED STEPHANO DiMERA ON DAYS OF OUR LIVES FOR 30 YEARS, DEAD AT 87! Mascolo died in L.A. from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He played the bad boy on Days for about 30 years. He died on December 9th and his last appearance was taped before that and aired on Feb. 9th. He was one of my favourite villains, you never knew how he was going to strike the citizens of Salem and how they all would get out of it! Stephano would especially attack the Bradys and Hortons! I noticed on the show when at home his passions were....a chalenging game of chess and operetic or classical music!!

He will be missed by all actors and fans of daytime t.v. He is survived by his wife of about 10 years and a sister! Rest sweet Prince....this was the quote when they showed the ....'In loving memory' at the end of the episode.
